Police Clarify Arrest Of Lawyers Handling APC Election Petition In Rivers State

Rivers State Police Command has provided clarification on the news of the arrest of lawyers handling APC election matters. According to a press release signed by the Rivers State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Grace Iringe-Koko, on Friday, March 31st, 2023, at about 11.20 a.m., information was received that some lodgers occupying three rooms in a popular hotel were seen carrying packages in and out of the rooms and printing what seemed like INEC documents (including results). The statement read further, "A video recording of the activities in one of the rooms was forwarded by the informant to the Police Commissioner." The information neither disclosed the identity of the lodgers nor whom they were working for. "As a responsible law enforcement agency, the police needed to act on the intelligence. Police Confirm Pipeline Explosion In Rivers

  The Rivers State Police Command has confirmed an explosion of an oil pipeline at the Rumurkpe community in the Emuoha Local Government Area of Rivers State. A statement by the Rivers State Police Public Relations Officer, SP. Grace Iringe-Koko, said that a preliminary investigation by the Police Command indicates that the victims were scooping crude product when the site caught fire. So far, about 12 persons are believed to have been burnt to death. The identities of the victims are still unknown. She further said that five vehicles, four Keke NAPEPs, and one motorcycle were all burned to ashes.
